Theory Of Relativity

Relativity is a theorem, formulated by Albert Einstein, which states that space and time are relative and all the motion must be relative to frame of reference. It is a notion that states, laws of physics are same everywhere. This theory is simple but hard to understand.

It states:

  • There is no absolute reference frame. One can measure velocity if object or momentum is only in relation to other object.
  • The speed of light is constant irrespective of who measures it or how fast the person measuring it, is moving.

Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity encompass two theories namely Special Relativity Theory and General Relativity Theory.

Special Theory Of Relativity:

Einstein first introduced this term in the year 1905. It is a theorem that deals with the structure of space-time. Einstein explained this theory based on two postulates –

  • The laws of physics are same for all irrespective of the velocity of the observer.
  • Speed of light is always constant regardless the motion of light source or the motion of the observer.
  • This is the theory which laid the foundation to time travel. According to Einstein, the rate at which time tics decreases with the increase the velocity of the person. But this is hard to notice as the decrease in the time is relatively very low when compared to the increase in time. So, it can be assumed that if you can equal the velocity of light, you will be in a situation where time is still. This phenomenon is called Time Dilation. There are other surprising consequences of this theory such as –
    • Relativity of simultaneity – two actions, simultaneous for one person may not be simultaneous for another person in relative motion.
    • Length Shrinking: Objects are measured and appeared to be shorter in the direction that they are moving with respect to the observer.
    • Mass – Energy Equivalence: Study of relativity lead to a one of the greatest inventions i.e., E = mc2where E is Energy, m stands for mass and c for velocity of light. Many scientists observed that the mass of the object is increased with the velocity but never knew how to calculate it. This equations is the answer to their problem which explains that the increased relativistic weight of the object is equal to the kinetic energy divided by the square of speed of light.

General Theory Of Relativity:

General Relativity theory developed by Einstein in the year 1907-1915 states that being at rest in the gravitational field and accelerating are identical physically. For example, an observer can see ball fall the same way on the rocket and on Earth. This is due to the acceleration of the rocket which is equal to 9.8 m/s2. This theory relates Newton’s gravitational theory and special relativity.

Some consequences of General Relativity are

  • Gravitational Time Dilation: Gravity influences the passage of time. Clocks in the deeper gravitational wells run slower than in general gravitational levels.
  • Light rays will bend in the gravitational field.
  • The universe is expanding and parts of it are moving away from Earth faster than the speed of the light.

Water is the basic element of nature . It covers 70% of the earth’s surface. Water needs to be replenished , purified and circulated again and again so that it can perform its functions. This process is known as Water Cycle.

1st: Water cycle starts with evaporation. It is a process where water at the surface turns into water vapours.

2nd: At high altitudes the water vapour changes into very tiny particles of water droplets. This  process is called condensation.

3rd: The water vapours than pour down as precipitation due to wind or temperature change. This occurs because the water droplets combine to make bigger droplets. Also air cannot hold any more water, it percipitates.

After the water percipitates , some water is absorb by the soil and some water runs over the surface of the earth. The water seeps down and increase the level of ground water.

Mathematics

Good afternoon. My name is Katyaini. I am going to speak about mathematics.

Types in Mathematics:

There are 2 main types in mathematics. Geometry and Algebra

Algebra:

Algebra is basically playing with numbers. There are mainly 4 operations in algebra : Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division. For division  you need to know the multiplication tables by heart.

                                                                     

The most important thing you need to know for solving algebra is BODMAS. Bodmas means the Bracket Of Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction. A tip from my side is that don’t get confused when you see the letters x and y in a sum.

Geometry:

Geometry is basically playing with shapes. You can find geometry boxes in stores,these contain the follwing materials:

  • Protractor
  • Angle scales
  • Scale
  • Compass
  • Divider
  • Sharpener
  • Mechanical pencil
  • Eraser

There are many types of angles. Please view the given video below on angles.

So atlast let me tell you the advantages of mathematics:

  • It helps in calculating the change
  • It helps make your CV
  • It basically helps in daily life.

It was one fine day when my friends and I decided to go to Japan for picnic for a break from studies. As we don’t know Japanese my uncle came with

“Well he acts strange all the time so I call him Mr.Strange any objection” I said “no” yosana said as she and I hid behind the tree.” why is he having a syringe” I said in an afraid tone. Yosana told that “it might be that he is a nature man and a vetenarian to treat the animals here”. There was a conduit from where a liquid was coming and Mr.Strange took the liquid with the help of syringe and injected it into the tree next to him. “What do you think he is doing” I asked yosana she also was as clueless as ever. than all of a sudden all the leaves turned yellow and brown.” you said he might be a nature man but I think he is a mad scientist or something let’s get out of here” I said withdrawing from the unpleasant view.

yosana then pulled me back and said “I know I said he was a nature man aren’t we going to stop him cause I don’t want him messing with the forest you know I want to save the environment and he is not ” . I quickly hide behind her and said ” okay he is messing with Mother Nature so let her give him the punishment instead of getting our self in some trouble”. Then yosana gave me a look like ‘you want that man to spoil the garden and we cannot do anything’. I said “ok fine I am going to do it just this once” and I took a vein and ran up to him with one end of the rope while yosana had the other end of the rope. Then we managed to tie him up with the vein and asked him some questions. “Okay I am here to some experiment but not harm anyone” the strange man said. Yosana grew angry and told “really but you were harming the plants you know”. The strange man could not answer so I removed the hood he wearing as soon as we did that we jumped on our feet as he was not like us human but he looked like as if he was fully made up of mirror and then all of a sudden he stood up and ran away we tried catch him again but he was too fast for us. “Shoots he got away yosana, but who was he forget about who was he what was he was like made up of entirely mirror” I said as I was panting. Yosana said “I think he is not a nature man actually one of them” she said leaning on a tree. We decided to tell only our friends and keep it a secret even from my uncle. When we got back to our picnic spot and told everything to our friends they were thinking that we were lunatic but we were not so we took them to the spot Mr.Strange did his experiment on the tree when they saw it they believed in us and even said sorry. After that my uncle came suddenly and asked us who wants a grilled snack for a picnic snack. We enjoyed a lot and went to the beach which and had many competition on who can swim hard or eat fast but my uncle told that no one is going to swim after eating and we did not go in the water there was a cliff nearby so we went there and took some rest while some of us were exploring the beach under the cliff.

To my friends and me:

“Guys I can see dolphins over there” said sanyogitha looking over the cliffs I must admit even though she needed glasses to see she could notice the dolphins without her specs also the dolphin topic caught our attention as all of us were leaning on her. “Awe there is a baby dolphin so cute” all did agree with me then all of a sudden our friends called from below the bridge saying “hurry up there is something you guys need to see” we all ran down as quick as possible and saw there was an unusual pendant glowing in the sand I reached out to grab it. My friend yosana grabbed it first and it stopped glowing she told that she heard about it and it is suppose to be the pendant of nature man we did not believe in her but later when we reached the hotel she showed us a book that had the same pendant in it and it told it belonged to nature man and he uses it to restore nature. We thought we should return it so we asked my uncle’s permission to go to the beach and he said to be back before seven. We rushed to the beach and started to search for clues but in vain this nature guys is a shy man so it was hard to find him then all of a sudden all the animals surrounded us and the same guy from the aircraft Mr.Strange came from the path the animals gave he told he wanted the pendant we asked him who he was and what he wanted from us he sighed and removed his disguise and told us he was nature man he like his hands were of earth his legs as wind and his head as water that’s why his head was mirror type. Then yosana assured that we give him the pendant then nature guy said “ look I am trying to tell you that you people made it hard for mother nature to survive so just give me that the nature is crying” . we just gave it and he told that mother nature will proud of you all and disappeared  in thin air.

Science Project-How Flowers change colour

What you need:

  • Fresh white flowers
  • Food colouring
  •  water
  • To set up this activity I simply used a collection of small jars. I added 1/2 cup of clean water and 10 drops of food colouring to each of the jars. Red, yellow, green, blue and purple were the colours I made the water. I didnt have purple food colouring so I needed to create it using a combination of red and blue drops. Science Project-Colour Changing Flower

 

What you need

  • white flowers such as daisies or hydrangeas
  • food coloring
  • several glasses, vases or test tubes if you want to see the colored water from the outside. Otherwise, you can use any cups.

Steps

  1. Fill each glass with fresh water from the tap. Put 2-5 drops of food coloring into it, one color each. You can also mix the colors (e.g. blue + yellow = green) to get all the rainbow colors.
  2. Trim at least half an inch of stem off the flowers before putting each into the glass and each time you change the water.
  3. Add flower food if it is provided.
  4. Keep them in a cool place overnight.
  5. Observe the change in colors in the petals.
  6. If you use flowers such as daisies that take longer to do this experiment, change the water entirely every 2-3 days to keep the flowers fresh for longer.
